Professional engineers have a fundamental obligation to protect the safety, health, and welfare of the public while serving their clients and employers with honesty, impartiality, and professional competence. This live webinar examines the ethical principles and standards of conduct that govern engineering practice, including the distinctions between ethics and personal morals and the responsibilities that set professional practice apart from an ordinary occupation.

Participants will explore how ethical requirements apply to common professional situations involving conflicts of interest, confidentiality, competency, professional judgment, compensation, competition, advertising, and the signing and sealing of engineering documents. The course also reviews professional codes of ethics, regulatory standards, and examples of conduct that may lead to disciplinary action, helping engineers recognize ethical risks and make defensible decisions in their day-to-day work.
