The Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors (TBPELS) regulates the practice of engineering and establishes continuing education standards. Engineers in Texas are required to earn 15 professional development hour credits annually. At least 1 PDH must be in the category of ethics and related to the code of conduct, Texas engineering laws, and standards of practice. Texas does not pre-approve course providers or courses. License renewal is done quarterly based on the registrant’s date of initial registration.
